India Women have reached the final of the Asian Games 2026 women’s cricket tournament after beating Bangladesh Women by 114 runs in the second semifinal. India won the toss and decided to bat first before putting up a strong total. Bangladesh then struggled against the Indian bowling attack and were bowled out for just 81 runs in 15.4 overs. The win has also confirmed a medal for India in the event. India will now face Sri Lanka in the final. A win will give India the gold medal, while a defeat will mean they take home silver. The Indian team will now look to finish the tournament with the top prize.
How Did India Women Beat Bangladesh?
India put Bangladesh under pressure from the start of their chase. After setting a big target, the Indian bowlers kept taking wickets at regular intervals.
Bangladesh could not build any strong partnership during their innings. Their batters struggled to score freely as India kept control of the game.
Dilara Akter was Bangladesh’s top scorer with 27 runs from 23 balls. Sultana Khatun remained unbeaten on 12 runs from eight balls, while Sharmin Akhter scored 10 runs.
Bangladesh eventually lost all their wickets for 81 runs in 15.4 overs, giving India a 114-run victory.
Who Were India’s Top Bowlers?
India’s bowlers shared the wickets and kept Bangladesh under pressure throughout the innings.
Nandani Sharma was one of India’s main performers with three wickets for 25 runs in four overs. Deepti Sharma also picked up three wickets, giving away just seven runs in 2.4 overs.
Shree Charani took two wickets for seven runs in three overs. Kranti Gaud and Shreyanka Patil also picked up one wicket each.
The combined effort from the Indian bowling attack helped the team complete a comfortable win.
When Did Bangladesh Lose The Match?
Bangladesh started losing wickets regularly during the chase. They were reduced to 38/3 before they could reach the 50-run mark.
The situation became worse as India’s bowlers continued to attack. Bangladesh lost their seventh wicket at 56 runs and were eight wickets down for 66 runs by the 13.2-over mark.
They were finally bowled out for 81 in the 16th over, with India winning the semifinal by 114 runs.
Who Will India Face In The Final?
India will face Sri Lanka in the final of the Asian Games 2026 women’s cricket tournament.
India won the toss and chose to bat in the semifinal at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin. The team will now have a chance to fight for the gold medal after a strong performance against Bangladesh.
The Indian squad included Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Harmanpreet Kaur, Richa Ghosh, Deepti Sharma, Shreyanka Patil, Shree Charani, Nandani Sharma and Kranti Gaud among others.
What Medal Is Now Confirmed For India?
India are now assured of a medal in the women’s cricket event at the Asian Games 2026 after reaching the final.
The final against Sri Lanka will decide the colour of that medal. If India win the match, they will take home the gold medal. If Sri Lanka beat India, the Indian team will have to settle for the silver medal.
This means India are guaranteed at least a silver medal, with gold now the only target left for the team.
