Three new members have joined the central committee of the Cricketers’ Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB), which has also formed an advisory committee to help senior cricketers contribute to important decisions.
CWAB confirmed the changes on Saturday.
Mohammad Mithun became president after being elected on Sept 4, 2025.
No election was held for the remaining 10 positions on the central committee due to a lack of competitors. Three of those elected unopposed have since resigned.
Khaled Masud was elected as a director in the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) election in 2025, while Shamsur Rahman resigned from the CWAB central committee after joining the BCB as a selector for age-group teams.

Former Test cricketers Marshall Ayub, Ziaur Rahman, and Mahmudul Hasan Rana have joined the central committee in their places.
CWAB president Mithun told bdnews24.com that the three were included in the committee in accordance with the organisation’s constitution.

“Our rule is that if the remaining members of the central committee agree, then no further elections are required to add anyone new. The decision is effective only if the majority of members agree,” he said.
An advisory committee has also been formed with 16 former cricketers, including four former captains, representing both men and women.
Mithun said the advisory committee would meet regularly to discuss important decisions.
“The purpose of forming an advisory committee with seniors is that we will sit with them once a month or two to take important decisions. We will share updates of our work in the last two months, and welcome any new plans or suggestions,” he said.

“We were not able to unite everyone through CWAB earlier, that was a problem. The main purpose of [advisory committee] is that there will be no age discrimination here. From seniors to new players, everyone should be on the same platform.”
The advisory committee includes Khaled Mahmud, Habibul Bashar, Salma Khatun, Shahriar Nafees, Syed Ashraful Haq, Athar Ali Khan, Shathira Jakir, Sanwar Hossain, Enamul Haque Moni, Salim Shahed, Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid Saikat, Neeyamur Rashid Rahul, Ishtiaq Sadeq, Naeem Islam, Nadif Chowdhury, and Anisul Hakim.
